SLY Cooper Developers acquired by Facebook

Facebook has recently announced having acquired Sanzaru Games, developers of the latest Sly Cooper games. Sanzaru Games will make virtual reality games for Oculus VR platforms, but like Sony Interactive Entertainment holds Sly Cooper's rights, it's unlikely that they continue to work on the franchise. It is possible that SIE asks other developers to work on the upcoming SLY titles, but losing a developer who knows the series never helps. The last game Sly, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, released in 2013 exclusively for the PS3 and the series remained silent since.

Sly Cooper: Sanzaru Games Acquired By Facebook & Oculus!? What Now?

Although Sanzaru Games was acquired by Facebook, SLY Cooper's main designer: Thieves in Time, Matt Kraemer recently said he would like to come back to the franchise if Sony was interested. "We love Sly," said Matt Kraemer on the Kinda Funny Games podcast. "I'm going to tell you a small amount of information. The first original episode of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time was supposed to be Egypt at Sly Tutankhamen and Egypt was going to be an episode DLC. It was the intention and we have never been able to finish that. I do [and the team] in Sanzaru have the story and the whole episode made on paper. "

Although Facebook can not get more SLY games on Sanzaru Games, it is possible that Sony can continue the franchise with someone else. "We would like to come back to this world. I hate leave it there and that's the question we get the most. All I can say is that if you want more Sly Cooper, let know Sony, "said Kraemer. "We are always ready to deepen this and it was an excellent franchise on which to work. It was a great project. It's sad to see that the team has not been able to create a last Sly game before being acquired by Facebook, but we look forward to seeing what they bring to Oculus.
