The IGN publication published new personnel from the series Lord of the Rings: Rings of power from Amazon, on which you can see orcs for the first time. And the authors of the show revealed some interesting facts.

So, the orcs were broken during the war of anger at the end of the first era, after which few surviving creatures fled and disappeared into the caves.
